So, I mentioned that I woke up with a little bit of a sore throat this morning. I’m sure I can thank my daughter for passing this along to me. It seems it’s nearly impossible to avoid getting sick, once your little one has gotten sick.
I didn’t have a whole of energy today, so luckily for me, our neighbor came over for a few hours to entertain the daughter. It snowed (ever-so-slightly) today, so of course daughter was thrilled! They both went for a walk around the block while I “worked” a bit around the house.
My day consisted of making coffee cake, doing laundry, making dinner, and now, I just finished packaging up a few orders. Now it’s almost 11pm and I’m ready to rest….for real!
It’s amazing to me how much my life has changed over the past 3 years since becoming a mom. The things I never thought I could or would do, are now just a part of my every day, normal life. Previous to becoming a parent, I would have laid in bed all day and watched movies to “rest” and “recuperate” from my cold. These days, I can only dream about such luxuries. I keep telling my husband that I need to book myself a night (or maybe even a weekend!) at a local hotel so I can “sleep in” one of these days :)
I think one of the hardest things for me to get a grasp on, since becoming a parent, is that when you are sick, the world does not stop. Life still goes on and so do the needs and wants of a small child :)
But honestly, I can’t imagine my life any other way. Well, I can, but I wouldn’t change anything…except maybe to win the lottery or to have a live-in nanny/manny, chef, personal assistant??
