We are almost in the home stretch of the Closet Makeover. I’ll be posting the progress in separate parts…as not to overwhelm anyone.
Something that was really bothering me about the new closet space, was the plain, wood-colored, closet rod. It didn’t really seem to fit in anymore with the new paint colors: white & turquoise. It actually stood out like a sore thumb…in my opinion :)
I was more than thrilled to discover that there was a super, simple, solution to my little dilemma! Hooray! Home Depot has this little baby for just $2.99 each! It is called a “tension PVC Shower Rod Cover
It’s thin and lightweight. It comes in a 60″ length, but you can easily cut it down to size. I just marked the length I wanted the cover to be, and used scissors to trim the excess.
After you get the cover to the size you need, you just wrap it around your curtain rod (or shower rod). Super easy! Since this is really made for shower rods, it didn’t fully cover the diameter of the closet rod, but it’s not a big deal since you won’t really be seeing the back side of it once it’s placed in the closet. Here’s a picture of what it looks like when it’s finished.
Here’s how it looks all done and placed back in it’s home.
Just in case you forgot how “not pretty” it was before, here’s a “before” & “after” for you :)
Much better, don’t you think? Definitely worth the $2.99! I’m so happy this was such an easy fix! I was willing to do something a little more, but thrilled I didn’t have to :)
