Closet Makeover

Our daughter’s latest “thing” is having “camp outs” or building “forts.” While I think the idea of this is simply adorable (!), I don’t love where she does this. It has been in the living, in her bedroom, in our bedroom, in my closet, etc. It usually involves lots of blankets, pillows, and of course, her “friends” or stuffed animals. Everywhere.

I needed a plan, asap!

We live in a old craftsman style home, and all our closets are fairly roomy. We had been using the closet in her bedroom as a storage facility. I finally decided that we needed to take some action and do a “closet makeover.” We started out by removing the contents of the entire closet into the middle of her room. Not a pretty sight. Kind of overwhelming, if you want me to be honest.

Next step: cleaning the walls, trim work, and filling all nail holes

Fun step: painting!

Here’s a look at what I got done today. I have so many fun ideas bouncing around in my little head for this fun, new space! I hope to create something that our daughter will love!
